TEMPE, Ariz.—Five members of the Arizona State wrestling team will be in action in Texas on Saturday and Sunday, competing at the Junior World Team Trials at the Irving Convention Center.
Competing for the Sun Devils are Lance Benick (96 kg), Jacen Petersen (74 kg), Josh Shields (74 kg), Anthony Valencia (74 kg), and reigning Junior World Team Trials Champion Zahid Valencia (84 kg).
As a member of the 2015 Junior World Team, Z. Valencia will await the winner of the 84 kg challenge field.
The winners in each weight class earn the right to represent the U.S. at the 2016 UWW Junior World Championships in Macon, France this August. Athletes competing in the UWW Junior World Team Trials were born 1996-1998.
