TEMPE -- The ITA announced their regional awards on Monday afternoon and Arizona State women's tennis coach Sheila McInerney was named the Southwest Region Coach of the Year while senior Desirae Krawczyk earned Most Improved Player.

The honor becomes McInerney's fourth time winning the regional award -- first as a member of the southwest -- in her 32 years at ASU and the first since the 2001 season.

Just a week ago, she was named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year for the second time in her career and first since 1997.

In 2015-16, McInerney has led the current-No. 23 Sun Devils to a 17-5 record and several firsts, including the program's first doubles conference championship, best-ever finish in conference play and first Pac-12 Tournament Team Title. She also led the team to just the second-ever victory over Stanford in program history -- both coming under McInerney.

Krawczyk posted a 26-11 singles record at the top spot for the Devils, while also compiling a 20-12 record in doubles. Her 26 victories moved her into fourth on ASU's all-time singles win list with 97, making her one of only four to crack the 90-win mark.

In 2014-15, Krawczyk held a 16-7 record on court one as a junior.

Former All-Pac-12 Sun Devil and ITA Scholar-Athlete Nadia Abdala won the Southwest Region Wilson/ITA Assistant Coach of the Year as the assistant at the University of San Diego.
