OJAI, Calif. -- On day two of the Pac-12 Women's Tennis Championships, Arizona State doubles pair of Ebony Panoho and Alex Osborne began the tournament with two-straight victories to advance to the championship bracket semifinals on Saturday.

In the invitational bracket, the duo of Kassidy Jump and Sammi Hampton also won both of their opening matches to advance to the semifinals.

"We played a lot of good tennis today, particularly in doubles," said head coach Sheila McInerney. "Ebony and Alex played two solid matches and are in the semifinals of the Pac-12 Championship flight. Sammi and Kassidy played well to beat a very good Cal team to reach the semifinals in their bracket as well. Both teams played well and are excited for tomorrow."

Panoho and Osborne -- ranked No. 22 in the country -- took care of business in the first round with a 6-3 victory over Colorado's Jeannez Daniel and Nuria Ormeno Ruiz. They were set to play the winner of 1-seed Maegan Manasse and Denise Starr of Cal and Utah's Margo Pletcher and Brianna Turley.

Pletcher and Turley, who are ranked No. 87, would force the upset of the tournament with a 6-3 victory over No. 2 Manasse and Starr, setting up a rematch of the unfinished meeting on March 13 when ASU visited Utah. Panoho and Osborne didn't let it get to that, as they finished a hard fought match with a 7-5 victory over the Utes.

They will take on 4-seeded Giuliana Olmos and Gabby Smith of USC at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

For Jump and Hampton, they also faced a familiar Utah opponent. The two took on Taylor Calton and Luisa Gerstner Da Rosa and the result was nearly the same, with the Devils winning the match this time 6-4. In the second round, the No. 88 pair faced Cal's Karla Popovic and Maria Smith. The two grinded it out for a 7-6(4) win and their 26th victory as a pair this season.

The senior duo of Krawczyk and Stephanie Vlad were also in the championship doubles bracket, but would lose a close one to No. 34 Nour Abbes and Maki Kobayashi of Washington, 7-5.

In the singles quarterfinals, Panoho and Krawczyk's journey came to an end at the hands of two of the top-ranked players in the conference and country.

Krawczyk met No. 11 Manasse, who earned the 1-seed in the bracket, for the second time this year and the fourth time in their careers. Manasse has never lost to Krawczyk and that streak continued, as she defeated the senior 6-2, 6-3.

As for Panoho, she went toe-to-toe with USC's Giuliana Olmos, who earned the 4-seed and is ranked No. 24 in the country. Olmos would continue her successful play as of late, defeating Panoho 6-1, 6-2.

Results for Panoho and Osborne can be followed on the Pac-12 website here.
