TEMPE -- Twelve members of the Arizona State University indoor track and field team have earned Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic honors.
Junior Keyasia Tibbs was the only Arizona State athlete honored with a 4.00 GPA or higher. Tibbs had a 4.04 GPA, the highest mark of both the men’s and women’s honorees.
She was followed closely behind by redshirt sophomore Jenna Maack and redshirt freshman Matthew Eckles who had 3.99 and 3.93 GPAs, respectively.
Rounding out the women’s’ selections were senior Ginger Jarchow, sophomore Athena Masolini and redshirt junior Ashley Weber.
For the men, redshirt junior Kyle Elliot, senior Jacob Flores, senior Ahmed Hassan, redshirt junior Michael Julian, redshirt senior Trevor Landry and graduate student Reggie Lewis also earned MPSF academic honors.
This becomes the second-straight year Jarchow, Weber and Landry received All-Academic honors.
To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average, have a class standing of at least a sophomore, have completed one full academic year at their current institution and have competed in fifty percent or more of the institution’s competitions in their respective sport.
The track and field program is currently in the middle of their outdoor season, and will compete in the Duel in the Desert against Arizona in Tucson on Saturday, April 30.
