FORT WORTH, Texas—Sun Devil Gymnastics’ senior Taylor Allex wrapped her career on Friday, competing as an individual qualifier on vault at the 2016 NCAA Gymnastics Championships at the Forth Worth Convention Center.
Rotating with Oklahoma, Allex scored a 9.5625 during the third rotation of the evening session.
Allex hit her career high 9.900 on vault five times this season, including at the Tuscaloosa Regional on April 2. She recorded that score or higher 10 times overall this season to lead the Gym Devils. This season she also has either won or tied for first on vault seven times.
The Becker, Minn. native is the Gym Devils’ first NCAA Championships qualifier since Mary Atkinson qualified as an all-arounder in 2010.
ASU’s first Pac-12 Conference First-Teamer on vault since 1997, Allex was also recognized on the Pac-12 All-Academic Team’s Honorable Mention List.
