TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State volleyball’s junior outside hitter Bree Bailey has been named to the Pac-12 Volleyball All-Star team, which will be traveling to China from June 19 to July 1, the conference announced on Tuesday.
This marks the third summer that the league has sent its All-Star team to China, with this year’s team being led by UCLA head coach Michael Sealy, and assisted by Arizona’s Charita Stubbs and Utah’s Malia Shoji.
On June 18, the team will meet in Los Angeles for its inaugural team practice, and will depart for Shanghai the following day for practices and sightseeing. The team will play six matches, while also enjoying cultural and sightseeing visits in Nanjing and Beijing. Previous all-star teams have made visits to the Great Wall, Forbidden City and other attractions.
More details about the tour will be announced in the weeks leading up to the trip.
Bailey, a native of Highland, Utah, is the third Sun Devil to take the trip to China, joining former teammates Macey Gardner (2013) and Whitney Follette (2014).
During the 2015 season Bailey recorded 288 kills, 54 digs, and 19 solo blocks. She was named Pac-12 All-Conference team Honorable Mention, as well as Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention.
The ASU volleyball team started the season at 15-0, their best start in program history since the 1973 inaugural season. The Sun Devils also played in their fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament, the first time since 1992-1995.
