RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. -- The Arizona State women's golf team is wasting no time getting back on the links as they will participate in their second tournament within the last week at the San Diego State March Mayhem tournament at The Farms Golf Club.

The tournament is a unique format, as the 16 teams participating will play a bracket format similar to its March cousin. The match-play event on the par-72, 6,211-yard course will feature teams ranked 1 through 16 with four rounds of competition. If a team wins their match-play round, they will advance in the bracket format. Consolation rounds will be played following the first round.

The No. 13 Sun Devils are ranked fifth in the tournament and will take on 12th-seed UC-Davis.

Other top-25 ranked teams include No. 2 USC, No. 6 UCLA, No. 9 Arizona, No. 11 Stanford, No. 15 California and No. 24 Oregon -- all Pac-12 foes. Seeding for the tournament was determined by order of ranking by Golfstat.com.

Freshman Linnea Strom and junior Monica Vaughn are coming off strong performances at the Wildcat Invitational, placing second and third respectively for a second-place team finish.

Strom -- now ranked No. 29 by Golfstat -- shot the best round of her young collegiate career at the prior event with a five-under 67 on the first day.

Vaughn will aim to continue the recent tear she's been on since February, as she's had six top-10 finishes in seven of the tournaments thus far this season.

Live results can be followed Monday through Wednesday on Birdiefire.com here. Two rounds will be played on Monday with the other two being split between Tuesday and Wednesday.
