TEMPE, Ariz.—The Arizona State beach volleyball team (3-4) is set for a trip to Albuquerque, N.M., this weekend for the New Mexico Spring Beach Volleyball Tournament, hosted by the University of New Mexico at Lucky 66 Bowl.
On Friday, the Sand Devils will open with a rematch with Colorado Mesa at 3 p.m. PT/4 p.m. MT. On Saturday, ASU takes on New Mexico State at 11 a.m. PT/Noon MT and a rematch with New Mexico at 1 p.m. PT/Noon MT.

ABOUT COLORADO MESA
Colorado Mesa has started the season 0-6, losing twice in Tucson to Arizona and Texas Christian; and four times in the Phoenix area to South Carolina, New Mexico, Grand Canyon and Arizona State. The Mavericks have not played since falling to the Sun Devils, 5-0, on March 5 at the Sun Devil Challenge in Tempe.
ABOUT NEW MEXICO
The Lobos have won four of their last five after starting the season 2-2 in Tempe. New Mexico beat California and San Jose State, but fell to Grand Canyon in Phoenix. The Lobos also defeated Miracosta and Irvine Valley in Irvine. The Sun Devils get a rematch with New Mexico on March 19, after losing a close match, 2-3, in Tempe at the Sun Devil Challenge.
UP NEXT
The Sun Devils travel to Tucson on Friday, March 25, for a doubleheader against CSU Bakersfield and Cal State Northridge at 9:30 a.m. PT and 5:30 p.m. PT, respectively.
LAST TIME OUT
The Sun Devils traveled to California for their first road trip of the season last week, sweeping Loyola Marymount before falling to No. 2 USC, 0-5, and No. 4 Long Beach State, 1-4.
The No. 3s duo of Madison Berridge and Bethany Wedepohl went 2-1 on the weekend, picking up the lone victory over LBSU, 21-17, 21-12, to Ciana Wagner and Mykah Wilson.
THE 2016 HOME SLATE
The Sand Devils host three more matches at home at the PERA Club this season. On Saturday, April 16, ASU hosts a doubleheader against San Diego State and Grossmont College at 8:30 a.m. PT and 1 p.m. PT, respectively.
Senior Night and the home finale is slated for Wednesday, April 20, against Pac-12 rival Arizona at 5 p.m. PT.
THE 2016 PAC-12 BEACH VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The inaugural Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championships is slated for April 28 to May 1 in Los Angeles, Calif., hosted by USC at the Merle Norman Stadium. The matches are slated to air on the Pac-12 Networks.
Beach volleyball is the Pac-12 Conference’s 23rd sponsored sport.
ABOUT BEACH VOLLEYBALL
Beach volleyball is contested with five pairings in the best of three sets, which are played to 21 points. The tiebreaker third set is played to 15.
The team win goes to the squad that secures three of the five wins throughout the match.
