TUCSON, Ariz. -- Freshman Linnea Strom and junior Monica Vaughn finished one right after the other at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational for 2nd and 3rd place on Tuesday.
Strom's runner-up finish at Sewailo Golf Club is tied for the best of her rookie campaign, as she also tied for second at the Pac-12 Preview in November.

The Sweden-native's six-under 210 over the three rounds was however her best combined score during her freshman campaign thus far.
The No. 14 Sun Devils also finished in second as a team, combining for a four-over 868 as a squad.
As she has in the last two tournaments, Vaughn sank several birdies to play the best round of the two days with a four-under 68 to finish in third place. The February Pac-12 Women's Golfer of the Month started the day in a tie for ninth at just one-under par.
Her day consisted of five birdies, one bogey and 12 pars.
The par-3's appeared to be the x-factor for ASU during the two days, as they finished 20-over with six birdies on the four holes during the three rounds.
However, the women were the best team in the field on the par-4's and par-5's, combining to go 15-over on the par-4's and 14-under on the longest holes on the course. In total, the Devils put together 53 birdies and an eagle over the course of the 54-hole tournament.
The Devils will waste no time in getting back on the golf course, as they travel to Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. for the San Diego State March Mayhem from Monday, March 21 through Wednesday, March 23 at The Farms Golf Club.
