FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Saturday wrapped up the Pac-12 Championships for the Arizona State women's swimming and men's and women's diving teams.
On the fourth and final day, sophomore diver Mara Aiacoboae highlighted the meet off the 10-meter platform. With two dives to go, Aiacoboae moved into first place. By the end, Aiacoboae finished in third with a score of 298.00, finishing one spot better than the 2015 Pac-12 Championships.
As a squad, the women set 16 new personal bests over the four days while freshman Marlies Ross broke an ASU record in the 400 individual medley and moved into sixth all-time in the 200-yard breaststroke -- all in just her third-ever event.
Ross clocked a time of 2:11.13, which beat her previous best of 2:11.79 that sat in sixth place at the time.
Along with Ross, six other women recorded personal bests over the four-day stretch.
Senior Marina Spadoni moved into eighth all-time in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.84 -- she finished 17th and first in the C final.
In the 100 and 500 freestyle, junior Katarina Simonovic reshuffled the respective all-time lists, moving into 10th for the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.75 and into third in the 500 freestyle at 4:44.04. She finished sixth overall on Saturday in the 100 free. Her time in the 500 earned her ninth and first in the B final.
Sophomore Ivana Ninkovic put up two ner PR's in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke with times of 1:02.84 and 2:19.26, respectively. She finished in the top-20 in the 100 and top-30 in the 200.
Also in the 100 breaststroke, freshman Kaya Philapil recorded a new best of 1:02.32, while also improving in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:06.31.
Junior Summer Luchsinger and freshman Krista Kolkebeck were the other two women to record personal bests, as Luchsinger tallied four new bests and Kolkebeck earned two new bests.
By the end, the women finished in eighth with a total of 472.5 points.
The Sun Devil women now wait to see which athletes will compete at the NCAA Championships on Wednesday, March 16.
