TEMPE - The No. 22 Arizona State University softball program will have 21 games televised live by the Pac-12 Networks in the upcoming 2016 campaign with an additional 27 games set to be broadcast via the Pac-12 Digital Live Stream. Of all Pac-12 institutions, the Sun Devils will see the second-highest amount of televised contests behind only Arizona’s 23 games.
All told, a record 48 of ASU’s 55 scheduled games this season are slated to be available to watch either via television or the Internet. Included among the 21 Pac-12 Network appearances are match-ups against six other Pac-12 institutions that made 2015 postseason as well as the SEC’s Kentucky Wildcats. All 37 of ASU’s scheduled home games will be available through the Pac-12 Networks or the Pac-12 Digital Live Stream.
Fans will be able to view all 22 of ASU’s pre-conference season tournament games scheduled at home with the exception of the team’s contest against Kentucky in the season-opening Kajikawa Classic where, instead, The Sun Devils will make their first televised appearance of the season on the Pac-12 Networks at 3 p.m. MT.
At this time, only ASU’s six games at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton as well as one road contest against UCLA are not scheduled to be shown via some form of live medium.
ASU will begin Pac-12 play at home against in-state rival Arizona. The three-game series will begin Fri., Mar. 18 (5 p.m. PT), continues Sat., Mar. 19 (3:30 p.m. PT) and concludes Sun., Mar. 20 (2 p.m. PT) with all three games scheduled to be shown through Pac-12 Arizona.
The Sun Devils’ next televised series will be when the team travels to Berkeley, Calif., to take on California (Apr. 1-3). All three games of the series will be televised, the first Fri., Apr. 1 (4 p.m. PT), then Sat., Apr. 2 (4 p.m. PT) and will end Sun., Apr. 3 (2 p.m. PT).
ASU will return home to face Washington the following weekend in a series that will kickoff Fri., Apr. 8 (5 p.m. PT) and conclude Sun., Apr. 10 (3 p.m. PT) the bookends of the series schedule for the Pac-12 Networks while Saturday’s contest will be live streamed.
ASU’s heads back on the road against Utah for three televised games, the first Sat., Apr. 16 (3 p.m. PT), then Sun., Apr. 17 (6 p.m. PT) and will conclude with Monday’s Softball Game of the Week on the Pac-12 Networks (6 p.m. PT).
The Sun Devils will then return home to face Oregon in which two of the three games will be televised. The series will begin Fri., Apr. 22 (live stream) while the two televised games will be Sat., Apr. 23 (7 p.m. PT) and Sun., Apr. 24 (1 p.m. PT).
The Sun Devils will then travel to Los Angeles to face UCLA. The first two games of the series will be televised on Fri., Apr. 29 (5 p.m. PT) and Sat., Apr. 30 (7 p.m. PT) while Sunday’s game is not currently scheduled to be broadcast by any means.
ASU’s penultimate series will be back at home when Stanford comes to town. Friday’s 7 p.m. PT opener will be live streamed while the televised games in this match-up are Sat., May 7 (Noon PT) and Sun., May 8 (2 p.m. PT).
ASU will close out its regular season in Corvallis, Ore., against Oregon State. The series will begin Thurs., May 12 (3 p.m. PT), continues Fri. May 13 (2p.m. PT) and concludes Sat., May 14 (Noon PT). All three games will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks.
