Sometimes all you need is a little home cooking.

Sun Devil Hockey returned to a sold-out Oceanside Ice Arena Friday for an exhibition matchup with Ohio and went away with an 8-2 victory behind their top line of Cody Gylling, Joe Lappin and Jack Rowe, who each had a goal.

"They were by far our best line tonight," head coach Greg Powers said. "They sustained the most pressure, really cycled the puck well, and really wore Ohio down."

The Sun Devils came out firing, allowing an early goal then roaring back for three before the period ended. By the time the second ended it was 7-2. Less than two minutes into the third period, Liam McGing netted the fourth and final goal for ASU.

In total, eight Sun Devils combined to score the eight goals. In order, Gylling, Liam Norris, Lappin, Ed McGovern, Rowe, Ryan Belonger, Anthony Croston and McGing tickled the twine throughout the night.

ASU and Ohio get together for Round 2 Saturday night at 7:30 at Oceanside. The Sun Devils will be looking to complete a sweep for the third time this season, the previous two of which were against NCAA teams.
