TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Pac-12 Conference announced their first tennis Player of the Week award for 2016 and senior Desirae Krawczyk was named the women's honoree.

She is the first Arizona State tennis player to win the award since Kelcy McKenna in April of 2011.

Krawczyk and the Sun Devils participated in the National Collegiate Tennis Classic at the Palm Springs Invitational from Jan. 15-17, and she earned five victories on her way to winning the tournament.

Of the five matches, three of them were against ranked women including No. 18 Catherine Harris of UCLA in the championship round, where Krawczyk won 6-1, 5-7, 6-3. She also took down No. 20 Taylor Davidson of Stanford 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.

The championship bout was the only match which Krawczyk did not win in straight sets.

Krawczyk's victory in Palm Springs became the second-straight tournament win after sweeping through the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in November.

The Sun Devil women will be back in action next weekend in Stillwater, Okla. as they face Northwestern on Saturday, Jan. 23, and No. 12 Oklahoma State and Notre Dame on Sunday, Jan. 24.
