TEMPE, Ariz. – Quinn Dornstauder notched her first double-double of the season and the No. 10 Arizona State women’s basketball team held the visiting Colorado Buffaloes to their second-lowest point total this season on its way to a 64-37 victory on Friday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena.

Dornstauder finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Elisha Davis added 11 points, five assists and zero turnovers for the Sun Devils (14-3, 5-0 Pac-12), who won their 11th straight game.

“I thought we had a great team win,” head coach Charli Turner Thorne said. “Our team defense continues to be pretty formidable and I was really happy with that.”

Colorado (5-11, 0-5 Pac-12) scored the first four points of the contest, but the Sun Devils countered with a 15-0 run and led 15-6 after the first quarter. ASU’s defense continued to dominate in the second quarter, holding the Buffs to four second quarter points on their way to a 24-10 halftime lead.

ASU dominated on the inside, outscoring Colorado 38-18 in the paint and out-rebounding the Buffs 44-38. Sophie Brunner finished with six boards to go along with her eight points and freshman Kianna Ibis tied her career-high with six rebounds.

The Sun Devils did a great job of sharing the ball, assisting on 18 of their 24 made field goals, and scored 25 points off 21 Colorado turnovers.

Zoe Beard-Fails led Colorado with nine points and five rebounds, while Haley Smith added four points, 10 rebounds and four blocks for the Buffs.

Friday’s game was the program’s annual Sparky’s Kids to College Field Trip Game, an initiative designed to introduce children to a college campus. More than 2,800 fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders from around the Valley attended the game.

The Sun Devils return to action on Sunday (noon MT) when they host Utah at Wells Fargo Arena.
