Freshman Jordan Masters collected two goals on the power play but it was not enough as Sun Devil Hockey dropped a 5-2 decision to Connecticut in its first home Division I game.

The Sun Devils started off well, collecting an early power play, but was unable to score. UCONN scored the first three goals of the game before Masters got on the board at the 18:44 mark of the second period. He scored again with 4:06 remaining in the game after UCONN scored twice more.

Masters expanded on his team-high goals and points total to eight and 19, respectively. Goalie David Jacobson made 36 saves in his first career start against a Division I team. His record this seaosn is now 1-1-0.

The Sun Devils's next game will be in the opening round of the Desert Hockey Classic on Friday against No. 12 Yale. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. MT and will be broadcast nationally on the Pac-12 Networks, the first game in the history of the Networks.
