TEMPE, Ariz. - On Tuesday, the Pac-12 released their All-Century cross country team and former Sun Devil Amy Hastings Cragg is one of the 12 women selected and only one from Arizona State.
During her tenure at ASU from 2002 to 2005, she was a three-time All-American, four-time All-Region, the 2004 Pac-12 Female Athlete of the Year, and was named first-team All-Pac-12 three-straight years from 2003 to 2005.
Hastings also earned the first cross country Pac-12 individual championship for ASU in 2004.
In 2007, she was presented with the Pac-12 Tom Hansen Medal of Honor for her accomplishments in track and field.
2005 XC: Earned her third All-America honor with her 13th-place finish at nationals...is the only Sun Devil, male and female, to earn three national honors...led the team to its first Top 4 finish in school history...led the team to second place finish at the regional meet with her runner-up finish...earned All-West Region honors...placed second at the Pac-10 meet to lead team to second place while earning First Team All-Pac-10...won the Roy Griak Invitational...also was sixth at the Pre-National meet...selected as the team's MVP...
2004 XC: Became the first Sun Devil to win the Pac-10 Cross Country Championship as she covered the Golden Gate Park course in 20:19...was NCAA West Region runner-up with a time of 20:14...Finished 22nd at NCAA Championships, earning her second All-American honor...tied the school record for career individual victories at four...also won the Dave Murray Invitational to open the season...earned her third all-conference cross country honor....selected Women's Most Valuable Athlete at season banquet...
2003 XC: Finished 25th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships to earn her first All-America honor...was the top team finisher in all six races she ran...won the Dave Murray and ASU Invites...her two race wins ties her for second on the single season wins list and third in career wins at ASU...became only the third woman to win multiple races in one season...took third at the Roy Griak and was fourth at the Pac-10 Championships...finished as the runner-up at the regional meet...member of the All-Pac-10 First and All-West Region First teams...also garnered Academic All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention honors...
2002 XC: Was an immediate contributor to the success of the team...was top finisher for the squad at the NCAA Championships with a 69th place finish...also finished second on the team in five races...best finish was fifth at the adidas Invitational...top time was a 21:11.0 at the conference meet...second best was at nationals...placed 10th in her first Pac-10 Championship race to help the team to second place...named to the All-Pac-10 second team...finished the NCAA West Region race in 10th-place to earn all-region honors.
