STANFORD, Calif.—The No. 14 Sun Devil volleyball team (17-5, 6-5 Pac-12) played No. 7 Stanford (14-5, 8-3 Pac-12) close in the first two sets, but ultimately fell in three, 25-17, 25, 23, 25-9, on Wednesday at Maples Pavilion.
Junior Bree Bailey led ASU with 12 kills, hitting over .300 for most of the match before finishing the night just under at .292, while senior Whitney Follette added 11 and two block assists, moving her to No. 2 all-time in the career category, tied with Sonja Markanovich’s (2008-11) 329.
Senior setter Bianca Arellano picked up 16 for the night, moving to No. 4 all-time at ASU with a career total of 2,960. Freshman Kyle Pickrell added 13 and seven digs, second-most on the team behind sophomore libero Halle Harker’s 11.
Hayley Hodson led Stanford with 14 kills while Brittany Howard added 10, and the Cardinal held a 10.0-4.0 blocking advantage over the Sun Devils.
