EUROPEAN MEN'S TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
In mid-July John Rahm, Max Rottluff, and incoming freshman Tobias Eden each competed for their respective countries in the European Men’s Team Championship, hosted at the Halmstad Golf Club in Sweden. The Championship ran from July 7-11. Rahm competed with Spain, Rottluff with Germany, and Eden with Sweeden. The event which featured three days of match play and 16 European nations, was won by Scotland.

U.S. AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP
John Rahm and Max Rottluff will compete in this year’s U.S. Amateur at Olympia Fields Country Club in Chicago, Illinois. Rahm (World No.1 Amateur) and Rottluff (World No. 27 Amateur) have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of three former Sun Devil U.S. Amateur Champions including Jeff Quinney (2000), Phil Mickelson (1990), and Billy Mayfair (1987). Other notable past winners include Bobby Jones (5x Winner), Tiger Woods (3x Winner), and Jack Nicklaus (2x Winner). The Championship consists of two days of stroke play, followed by knockout  competition held at match play to decide the winner of the leading 64 competitors. For the first time the tournament will be played at Olympia Fields Country Club which has been the host of four major championships, twice serving as a U.S. Open venue. FOX Sports 1 will kick of coverage of the Championship on Wednesday, August 19th from 3:00-6:00 PM EDT. Coverage will remain on FOX Sports 1 through Friday, with the Semifinals Match on Saturday, August 22, and Finals Match on Sunday, August 23, on FOX.

PACIFIC COAST AMATEUR
Sun Devils Nicolo Galletti and Ki Taek Lee will participate in the 49th annual Pacific Coast Amateur July 28-31 in Eugene, Oregon, at Eugene Country Club. Over the years five Sun Devils have won the event on six occasions, including most recently Chan Kim in 2009. Sun Devil great Billy Mayfair is a two-time champion of the PCA, winning in 1987 and 1988 respectively. Mayfair is one of just two golfers to defend his PCA title, as only Mike Davis in 1969-70 did the same.

WESTERN AMATEUR
Max Rottluff will play in this year’s Western Amateur at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois. Rich Harvest Farms has twice served as the host of the NCAA Regional Men’s Golf Championship, most recently in 2014, and in 2009 was the home of the Solheim Cup. The Western Amateur offers one of the most intriguing and toughest formats in golf and is composed of both match and stroke play. Competition kicks off Tuesday, Aug. 3, with the field of 156 playing 18-holes of individual stroke play. The low-44 competitors will then compete in 36-holes of individual stroke play to determine the top-16 finishers. The champion will be determined on Aug 7-8, with the “Sweet Sixteen” competing in a knockout competition held at match play. Rottluff looks to become the second Sun Devil in program history to win the Amateur, as “Lefty” Phil Mickelson won the tournament in 1991.
