Arizona State University women's basketball rising junior Quinn Dornstauder was one of 12 players named to Canada's roster for the 2015 World University Games, according to a recent announcement by Canada Basketball.

Dornstauder, a 6-4 center from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, becomes the third Sun Devil to be named to a national team this summer joining rising junior Sophie Brunner (U.S. Pan American Games Team) and rising senior Katie Hempen (U.S. World University Games Team).

“I am absolutely thrilled that Quinn will be competing for Canada at this summer’s World University Games,” said Sun Devil head coach Charli Turner Thorne. “When Quinn was invited to last month’s tryouts I talked about how hard she had worked to get to that point. That same work ethic and determination has enabled her to now be included among the best players in her country and I could not be more proud.”

Dornstauder played in every game last season and started five games. She was ASU’s leader off the bench in both scoring (7.2 ppg - 5th on the team) and rebounding (4.9 rpg - 3rd on the team) and led the team in blocks (0.9 bpg). She scored in double figures 11 times and grabbed six or more rebounds 16 times. Her signature performance of the season came in ASU’s 53-52 win over Stanford (Feb. 6 in Tempe) in which she scored a career-high 22 points (9-13 FGs). Dornstauder was also one of ASU’s top performers in the Pac-12 Tournament where she averaged 12.5 points and 6.0 rebounds and connected on all 11 of her free throw attempts.

Dornstauder is currently with the team in China playing in an exhibition tournament that will conclude on June 28. The team will then look toward the World University Games that will take place July 3-14 in South Korea.
