Sun Devil Caravan Heads to East Valley - May 8

MESA, Ariz. – The Sun Devil Athletics Caravan makes its second stop of 2015 in the East Valley starting at the Arizona State Polytechnic Campus in Mesa, Ariz., with appearances from Ray Anderson, Vice President for University Athletics and Athletics Director, women’s basketball coach Charli Turner Torne, gymnastics coach Dr. Rene Lyst, water polo coach Todd Clapper, track coach Greg Kraft, and senior associate athletic directors Rocky Harris and Scottie Graham on Friday, May 8.

The tour starts with a private pep rally event, Sparky’s Tour, on ASU’s Polytechnic Campus followed by a service project at The House of Refuge where Sun Devil student-athletes and coaches will give back to the community.

The House of Refuge, a non-profit organization that provides transitional housing and supportive services to homeless families, is located adjacent to the ASU Polytechnic Campus. Student-athletes and staff members will assist the organization with a beautification and landscaping process around the grounds.

The evening concludes with the Sun Devil Meet and Greet at Jimmy’s of Chicago (884 E. Williams Field Rd. #102) in Gilbert where ASU fans down south have a chance to meet and interact with Sun Devil coaches, administrators, and former student-athletes from 5-6:30 p.m PT.

The second-annual Sun Devil Caravan brings the Sun Devil Athletics experience directly to the fans and allows Sun Devil Nation to connect one-on-one with coaches, student-athletes, and administrators.
