SEATTLE – Starting left-hander Ryan Kellogg went eight innings and a pair of infielders led the way at the plate to help No. 4 Sun Devil Baseball tie the series at Washington with a 4-3 win on Saturday night at Husky Stadium in Seattle.

Shortstop Colby Woodmansee went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double, and second baseman Andrew Snow added a run-scoring triple and the go-ahead RBI in the seventh inning to pace the Sun Devils (24-11, 12-5). Woodmansee has four extra-base hits in the series, including three doubles and a home run, and notched his team-high 16 multi-hit game of the season.

Kellogg (7-1) picked up his seventh win of the season and the 26th of his career as he scattered three runs on eight hits across eight innings to tally his 24th career quality start. He struck out six and walked two, and stranded seven runners on base, including two in scoring positon in the second inning. He issued inning-ending strikeouts in both the seventh and eighth, including one looking and one swinging, to keep the Devils’ one-run lead intact.

Right-hander Ryan Burr (11) took over in the ninth and conceded a lead-off single before he struck out three straight batters to end the game and earn his 11th save in 2015. He stretched his career-saves mark to a school-record 35 and made his 83rd career appearance for the Devils to pass Kevin Dukes (1978-81) for the fifth most in school history.

Snow knocked a two-out single up the middle in the bottom of the seventh inning to score right fielder Trever Allen, who reached third on a fielding error by the Huskies’ left fielder, and break a 3-3 tie. Snow’s RBI marked the seventh time this season the Devils have driven in the game-winning run with two outs.

UW center fielder Braden Bishop scored the first run of the game to give the Huskies (21-15, 7-10) an early 1-0 lead in the third inning after he doubled, stole third and came home on a throwing error by ASU catcher Brian Serven.

Woodmansee drove the first pitch he faced in the top of the fourth inning over the fence in left-center field to tie the game at one run apiece.

The Devils secured three hits with two outs in the top of the fifth to take a 3-1 lead. Designated hitter Chris Beall singled to start the rally, Snow plated him with a RBI triple, the first of his career, and center fielder Johnny Sewald finished it off with a RBI double.

The Huskies tied the game, 3-3, on a two-out, two-run single from second baseman Josh Cushing in the bottom of the sixth inning.

UW starting right-hander Tyler Davis (5-4) threw a complete game, but took the loss as he allowed four runs, including three earned, on seven hits and struck out 11.

Notes
