COLUMBIA, S.C.—The Arizona State sand volleyball team (2-6) dropped its final match of the Gamecock Invite, 3-2, to Tulane on Sunday at the Carolina Sand Volleyball Complex.
For the third consecutive match, ASU secured a win at the No. 4 position, with junior Whitney Follette and freshman Halle Harker defeating Christina McAfee and Sarah Strasner, 21-13, 21-13.
The Sun Devil also picked up a sweep at No. 2, with juniors Macey Gardner and Bianca Arellano defeating Grace Weave and Hannah Holmes, 21-17, 21-7.
ASU opens the 2015 home schedule with four matches slated for next week at the PERA Club. On Wednesday, the Sun Devils will face off against Nebraska at 6 p.m. PT, and then Boise State at the same time on Thursday. On Saturday, ASU will take on a doubleheader, first facing Pac-12 foe USC at 3 p.m. PT, and then New Mexico at 5 p.m. PT.
