Tempe, Ariz.--The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, the W.P. Carey School of Business and Sun Devil Athletics will hold the first Sports Law and Business Conference on March 12 - 13at the Ed and Nadine Carson Student Athletic Center at Arizona State. The event will run from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. both days and will cover various aspects of the sports industry along with many keynote speakers.
Registration is open to anyone and will feature special pricing for ASU alumni and students. The general public rate will be $125 per day/$200 for both days. ASU alumni rate will be $75 per day/$100 for both days. Finally, student pricing will be $30.00 per day/$50 for both days. Both days will offer many notable speakers that will address the sports industry, headlined by Tony Dungy and Oliver Luck.
The Sandra Day O’Connor College of law, under the direction of Rodney K. Smith, W.P. Carey Graduate School of Business, with the help of Professor Michael Mokwa the Sun Devil Athletics, under the direction of Athletic Director Ray Anderson, have teamed up to build the curriculum for this event. The focus on regulatory, revenue and reputational issues are what drive the sports law and business program at ASU and will be the backbone of the conference. ASU’s collective belief that the emphasis on the three R’s will guide the future of all levels of sports in the years to come.
