TEMPE, Ariz. – The Arizona State women’s gymnastics team returned to Wells Fargo Arena after two weeks on the road, for a Friday night meet against the Oregon State Beavers. Their second meet in the six days proved to be a challenge, as the Gym Devils fell to the No. 10 Beavers 196.275-193.745.

On vault, the Sun Devils competed all six gymnasts and hit a season high 48.700.  Junior transfer Taylor Allex led the Gym Devils in the event, tying her career high of 9.900 for the third time this season.  Senior Natasha Sundby scored a 9.850, and junior Allie Salas scored a season high 9.775.  After the first rotation the Sun Devils trailed the Beavers by only 0.200. 

On bars the Sun Devils scored a 48.650.  Junior Carissa Kraus led the Gym Devils with a 9.825.  Junior Stephanie Miceli followed with a 9.725.  Sophomore Beka Conrad, sophomore Kristine Levin, and Taylor Allex all had scores of 9.700 for the Gym Devils.  After two rotations, Oregon State led the Sun Devils 98.150-97.350.

Usually consistent on beam, the Gym Devils had to count a fall, and had an event total of 47.725.  Senior Brianna Gades led the team, scoring a 9.850, the third time this season she has hit a 9.800 or above.  Stephanie Miceli had a 9.775.  Heading into the final rotation, the Beavers continued to lead 147.275-145.075.

The Gym Devils only competed five girls on floor, scoring a 48.400.  Taylor Allex led the team with a 9.850, and Allie Salas tied her season high of a 9.825.

Next up, the Gym Devils compete again at Wells Fargo Arena, hosting the UCLA Bruins at Noon MT in the Gym Devils’ annual Pink Meet.  The meet will be broadcasted live on the Pac-12 Network.
