TEMPE, Ariz.—Championed by the Pac-12 Networks’ board of directors, Arizona State will lead off the conference’s Student Authentication Project, an initiative which will provide access to Pac-12 Networks programming to students living on all four of ASU’s campuses.
ASU students currently attending school and living in campus housing will be able to watch Pac-12 Networks on their computers, smartphones or tablets by using their ASURITE user ID. Students can either install the Pac-12 Now App or access programing by visiting pac-12.com/live on a computer.
Arizona State is the first Pac-12 school to implement the Student Authentication Project, with the conference rolling out the service to member institutions that are capable of supporting the necessary infrastructure.
“Sun Devil Athletics and Arizona State University are proud to partner with Pac-12 Networks on this initiative to provide our students living on campus with access to the wealth of great programing available on the Networks,” said Ray Anderson, Vice President of University Athletics. “Our student body represents the lifeblood of Sun Devil Nation and I commend the Pac-12 Networks’ board of directors for taking action to ensure ASU students have an outlet to cheer every Sun Devil on to victory.”
Access to Pac-12 Networks for eligible students is available immediately and will be active for the Network’s broadcast of Sun Devil Football vs. Weber State on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m. PT.
"I am excited that Arizona State University is the first school in the Pac-12 to offer live sports programming to students living on campus via their mobile devices or laptop computers," said Ryan Olkes, student body president at the ASU Polytechnic campus. "Because ASU is such an innovative institution with the technological infrastructure in place, no student living on campus will have to miss watching a Sun Devil sporting event broadcast on Pac-12 Networks," Olkes added.
Each year, Pac-12 Networks offers live coverage of 850 sporting events including the coverage of Arizona State’s 22-varsity sports. In addition, Pac-12 Networks creates extensive original programming, provides marquee football match-ups and basketball games along with coverage of Olympic sports like gymnastics, soccer, and volleyball.
