FEDERAL WAY, Wash.—Today was a day full of season bests for Arizona State men’s swimming team as it took on the second day of the Pac-12 Men’s Swimming Championships.
The second day’s schedule consisted of four races: the 500 freestyle, the 200 individual medley, the 50 freestyle, and the 200 freestyle relay to cap it all off.
Junior Ryan Glander finished 17th in the 500 freestyle finals and earned his season best in the event’s prelims with a time of 4:26.33. Following Glander, in 18th place was junior Karl Boscacci, who earned his season best in the event with a time of 4:28.33.
In the 200 individual medley, sophomore Zac Dalby swam a season best in the prelims with a time of 1:48.81 and placed 20th overall in the event.
Junior Herbie Behm swam the 50 free for an NCAA B standard with his season-best time of 20.14 which placed him at 14th, earning three points for the Sun Devils.
The 200 freestyle relay team included Behm, junior Alex Coci, junior David Adalsteinsson, and senior Deniz Hekmati. The team finished with a time of 1:20.56 placing them at 7th and earning 24 points for the Sun Devils.
At the end of the second day, marked by season-best times, the Sun Devils moved up to sixth place with 108 points total. Cal continues lead the conference championships after the second day of competition with a total of 298.5 points. The Pac-12 Men’s Swimming Championships continues through Wednesday in Federal Way, Wash.
