NORMAN, Okla.—Highlighted by senior Laura Blanco’s first career hole-in-one, the Arizona State women’s golf team is tied for first place after day one of the Schooner Classic, Saturday, in Norman, Okla. The Sun Devils shot a 13-over 293 in the first round of competition to tie with Oklahoma State for the tournament lead.
Blanco holed the ball off her drive on the par-3, 11th hole to record her first collegiate-career hole-in-one. Blanco shot a two-over 72 to finish the day in 9th. Senior Justine Lee leads all Sun Devil golfers shooting a 1-over 71, carding two birdies in the round.
Four of the five Sun Devil golfers in the line-up are positioned in the top-25 on the leaderboard.
The second round of the Schooner Invitational continues tomorrow at the par-70, 6,082-yard Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Okla. Live scoring is available at www.birdiefire.com.
