VALENCIA, Calif.--The 12th-ranked Arizona State women's golf team finished in sixth place at the 2013 Pac-12 Championships, hosted by UCLA, in Valencia, Calif. The Sun Devils shot a 26-over 890 (295-295-300) at the par-72, 6,300-yard Valencia Country Club. USC took home the conference team title and the Trojan's Annie Park was finished in first to claim the Pac-12 individual title.
Junior Laura Blanco finished in fifth place at the Pac-12 Tournament, tying her highest finish of the season. Blanco shot a three-round total of 2-under 214 (73-69-72) to pace the Sun Devils. Sophomore Daniela Ordonez finished in a tie for 16th shooting a total of 5-over 221 (75-73-73).
The Pac-12 also announced its 2013 All-Conference team with sophomore Noemi Jimenez named as a first-team All-Pac-12 Conference selection. Jimenez, who holds a 72.31 scoring average following Pac-12 play, continues a trend of nine-consecutive years with a Sun Devil named as a first-team selection. Blanco and Ordonez were named to the All-Pac-12 second team. This is Ordonez' second All-Conference honor. Last season as a sophomore she was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention with Justine Lee.
Next up, the Sun Devils will learn their destination, Monday, as the NCAA announces its Regional selections. NCAA Regionals will take place May 9-11 in Stanford, Calif., Auburn, Ala., and Norman, Okla with the top-eight teams moving on to Nationals. The NCAA Championship will take place May 21-24 in Athens, Ga. The Sun Devils currently hold the nation's longest NCAA Championship appearance streak at 21-consecutive years.
