Baseball Bloodlines: Teamed with his brother Raoul in the Sun Devil infield in 2009 and 2010, the fifth set of brothers to suit up for the Devils at the same time, the first set to ever start alongside one another in school history.
2011 (Junior): Completed a stellar career by earning First Team
All-Pac-10 and Second Team ABCA All-West Region honors...also earned Second Team
Academic All-Pac-10 accolades...started 57 games...hit .307 (70-228) with four
homers and a team-leading 54 RBI...bashed 17 doubles and stole 15 bases...made
the switch to third base, where he excelled...drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in
the fourth round of the MLB draft.
2010 (Sophomore): Turned in an impressive sophomore campaign, earning Third Team All-American honors from the NCBWA and First Team All-Pac-10 accolades...was a First Team Academic All-Pac-10 winner...won the Pac-10 batting crown with his .393 average (92-234)...started 59 games at first base, hitting 10 homers and driving in 54 runs...also stole 20 bases and was hit by a pitch a Pac-10 leading 25 times.
2009 (Freshman): An honorable mention All-Pac-10 selection...appeared in 53 games, making 40 starts, mostly at first base...hit .280 (42-150) with six homers and 37 RBI...one of his home runs was a grand slam in Tucson against Arizona.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Ariz...earned four varsity letters for baseball...named first-team all-state and all-region as a junior in 2007...set the single-season school record with 16 home runs and hit .430 that season...helped lead team to state title game and a No. 6 national ranking by Baseball America in 2007...member of the USA Baseball Youth National Team in 2006 and 2007...hit .429 and earned all-tournament honors while playing with the 2007 USA Baseball Junior National Team at the Pan Am Championships...played in the Connie Mack World Series in 2007.
