Player Bio: Maurice London - Arizona State University Official Athletic Site



ASU: Junior College transfer whose reliable defensive play earned him significant playing time as a starter his senior year...played in 22 career games, starting 11...collected 69 career tackles (41 solo)....made plays all over the field with three career fumble recoveries and seven pass breakups.

2005: Played in and started 11 games...ranked fourth on the team with 55 tackles (31 solo), which tied him for 37th in the Pac-10 Conference in total stops...Led the conference with three fumble recoveries...tied for second on the team with six pass breakups...had 3.0 tackles for loss...had a season-high eight tackles twice, against No. 24 Oregon (seven solo) on Oct. 8, and against rival Arizona (three solo) on Nov. 25...made seven total stops (two solo) Sept. 24 at Oregon State and equaled that total amount (five solo) a week later against top-ranked USC on Oct. 1...also broke up a season-high two passes against USC...had five tackles (four solo) in the opener against Temple on Sept. 1...had five tackles (three solo) against Rutgers in the 2005 Insight Bowl on Dec. 27...did not play against Washington on Oct. 29.

2004: Played in 11 games...collected 14 tackles on the season (10 solo)...recorded one solo tackle and a pass breakup against UTEP...tallied a season-high nine tackles (seven solo) against UCLA...also forced a fumble vs. the Bruins...enrolled at ASU in January of 2004 and participated in spring football.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: A 2004 graduate of Grossmont Junior College in San Diego, Calif.... attended the same junior college as Sun Devils Brett Hudson and Josh Golden...was a first-team All-American as a sophomore...also earned first-team all-state honors...rated as the No. 70 junior college recruit in the nation by SuperPrep Magazine...was a first-team all-conference and All-America selection in the preseason as well...tallied 75 tackles, seven pass breakups, two caused fumbles, four interceptions and one sack as a sophomore...was the team's defensive MVP...was second-team All-USA...helped his team to the 2003 Foothill Conference championship...team went 13-1 and lost in the state championship game to San Francisco City College in 2003...helped Grossmont to a 9-2 record as a freshman...earned first-team all-conference and first-team All-California honors in his first year...was also an honorable-mention All-USA selection as a freshman...tallied 70 tackles, eight interceptions, 10 pass breakups, three fumble recoveries and three caused fumbles...was selected Grossmont's best defensive back in 2002...hails from Atlanta, Ga., and attended Middle Georgia College, which dropped football after he redshirted one year... coached by Dave Jordan, who also coached Sun Devils Josh Golden and Brett Hudson.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2001 graduate of Creekside High School in Fairburn, Ga....played football, track and field and tennis in high school...earned second-team All-South Fulton County honors in football...collected 120 tackles, 15 pass breakups and four interceptions in his prep career.

PERSONAL: Is pursuing a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies (education and sociology)...parents are Phillip London and Sharon Chambers (police officer)...has a brother, Demetrius...lists playing the state championship game against San Francisco CC as his most exciting experience in sports...counts relaxing as one of his hobbies...full name is Maurice Levon London.
