Arizona State: Will battle Kellan Fluckiger for starting heavyweight position.

2000-01: Compiled an overall record of 3-2 and a dual record of 0-1 at heavyweight…placed third at the California Open…wrestled one dual match, losing to eighth-ranked Eric Webb of Oregon, 5-3…took fifth place at the U.S. National Freestyle Championships April 15.

1999-2000: Did not compete…finished sixth at the Fila Junior World Championships after claiming the heavyweight title at the Junior World Team Trials in the summer of 2000.

1998-1999: Used redshirt season.

High School: A 1998 graduate of Rosemead High School…captained the wrestling team as a junior and senior…compiled a career record of 165-8…a two-time California state wrestling champion (1998, 1997)…a 1997-98 Amateur Wrestling News fourth-team All-American…named a USA Wrestling third-team All-American…coached by Louis Madrigal…also earned four letters in track and three in football…captained both the track and football teams in 1996-97 and 1997-98…three-time first-team All-Mission Valley League selection in football (offensive guard and defensive tackle)…twice selected the Mission Valley League Lineman of the Year…two-time All-CIF All-Southern Section team selection (1998,1997)…three-time CIF finisher and state finisher in the shot put, with a personal best toss of 59 feet, four inches.
