Arizona State: Will challenge for starting position at 197 pounds.

2000-01: Compiled a 7-14 overall record and a 2-7 dual record at 197 pounds…shared time with Mike Marshall as the starter at 197…three of his seven wins came via fall…was 0-5 versus ranked opponents…earned Pac-10 All-Academic second-team honors.

1999-2000: Used redshirt season.

High School: A 1999 graduate of Centaurus High School in Lafayette, Colo…earned two-time all-conference honors in wrestling… placed two years at the Colorado state tournament and won the state Greco title… compiled an 80-39 mark during his prep career… helped his team to the 1999 state wrestling title… earned four letters in wrestling and served as team captain as a senior… also lettered in baseball and football… was an all-conference selection (offense and defense) in football in 1998… was coached by Craig Walters in wrestling and Arizona State graduate Carmen Rivas in baseball.

Personal: Majoring in marketing… parents are Eric and Elizabeth Swanson… has two siblings, Jeffrey (18) and Kacey (15)…father Eric played offensive guard at Cal from 1968-72… born March 5, 1981, in Boulder, Colo.…full name is Andrew Boyd Swanson.
