Amanda returns to her home state this season after transferring from Fresno State after two seasons. A solid left-handed pitcher who will add to the defensive arsenal in the circle for the Sun Devils, Nesbitt saw limited time for the Bulldogs at Fresno State, but was named WAC Conference All-Academic as well as being awarded the Coaches Award.
Amanda was also a high school standout at Mountain View High School in Mesa, Ariz. where she was a four-year letterwinner in softball. For all four years of her high school career, Amanda was named MVP of her high school team, as well as Arizona Pitcher of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year her senior year. Throughout her high school career Nesbitt maintained a batting average over .300 each year, claiming a .508 average her senior year. In the circle she also managed a below 1.00 ERA all four years as well, and lists her most exciting moment in sports as pitching a perfect game.
The exercise science and communication major was born on May 7, 1985 in Mesa, Ariz. to John (civil engineer) and Trish Nesbitt. She is the youngest of four with two older brothers Shon (36) and Chris (23) as well as an older sister, Carrie (33).
