Four Sun Devils were named to the first team and five earned honorable mention

2012 (Senior): Earned Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention recognition...earned Collegiate Baseball Louisville Slugger All-America Third Team honors...tied for the Pac-12 lead in home runs with 13, finished second in the conference in slugging percentage at .595 and fourth in RBI with 53...led the team in home runs, slugging percentage, RBI and doubles...appeared in all 56 games for the Sun Devils, hitting .305 with a team-high 53 RBI on 61 hits, including a team-best 19 doubles...paced the team with 14 multi-RBI games...named Pac-12 Player of the Week for Feb. 22...set career-bests in every major statistical category....went 3-for-4 with four RBI in his final collegiate game, an 8-7 loss at Arizona May 27... had a team and season-high, and a career-best, six RBI vs. Western Michigan on Feb 17...hit a pair of home runs in a game twice, including at UCLA on March 18 and vs. Western Michigan Feb. 17.

2011 (Junior): Appeared in 7 games, making three starts...hit a home run at Washington.

Junior College: Transferred to Santa Barbara City College from ASU in 2010...hit .343 with 11 homers and 40 RBI for the Vaqueros.

2009 (Freshman) Appeared in 32 games, making 14 starts...hit. .345 (19-55) with a home run and 19 RBI...the home run was a pinch hit grand slam against Milwaukee.

High School: A 2008 graduate of Pacific Grove (Calif.) High School...earned four varsity letters in baseball and was team captain as a junior and senior...a 2008 Louisville Slugger All-American and Rawlings All-American selection...named league MVP, county MVP and all-state as a senior...four-time first-team all-league selection...holds school career records for RBI (137) and doubles (34)...in his four-year career, hit .410 with 34 home runs, 137 RBI, 34 doubles, 73 walks and 20 stolen bases...also went 22-9 with a 2.13 ERA and 149 strikeouts in 139 innings as a pitcher...helped lead team to first outright league title in 15 years in 2008...coached by his father, Gil...won AAU national championship in 2005 with NorCal Baseball...also lettered in basketball in high school, and was a two-time all-league selection.

MLB Draft: Selected in the 47th round (1,401st pick overall) by the San Francisco Giants in the 2008 Major League Baseball draft.

Personal: Sociology major at ASU...parents are Gil and Deborah Ruiz of Pacific Grove, Calif...has one brother, Gabe...lists Adrian Gonzalez as his favorite pro athlete and the Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants as his favorite professional sports teams...says Mark Wahlberg as his favorite actor and "Boondock Saints" as his favorite movie...born March 29, 1990 in Pacific Grove, Calif...full name is Abraham Mathew Ruiz.
