TEMPE - The third-ranked Arizona State University water polo opened the 2013 ASU Invitational with a pair of routs at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center in Tempe, Ariz., on Friday in victories over Colorado State and Pomona-Pitzer.
The Sun Devils posted their highest single game goal tally of the season with a 17-7 victory over CSU in the opener before limiting an opponent to its lowest goal-output of the season with a 15-3 romp over the Sagehens to round out the day.
The victories improved ASU to 18-4 on the season as they get set to host #2 Stanford on Sunday.

ASU Invite Game #1
Arizona State wasted no time pouncing on top of Colorado State in the in the opener of the ASU Invitational, scoring six goals in the first quarter and never looking back from there.
Shannon Haas matched her highest goal output of the season with five goals - including three in the first half - to pace the Sun Devils. It was the fifth time this season Haas had scored more than three goals in a game.
With Saturday's performance, Haas made ASU history by becoming the first Sun Devil to score five or more goals in five different games in her career.
Alicia Brightwell continued her recent tear, scoring three goals for her sixth consecutive performance with three or more goals.
E.B. Keeve and Ianetta Hutchinson split halves in the cage while posting 14 saves, logging six and eight, respectively. It was an exceptional performance for the defense as the team's starters didn't give up a goal until the fourth quarter while the team posted 14 steals in the contest.
The 17 goals scored was the highest output for the Sun Devils this season.Petra Pardi and Gao Ao each scored two goals while ASU's Kate Enoka, Abbey Kerth, Makenzy Fowler, Anna Kertes and Daisy Carter all got in on the action as well as nine of the 13 Sun Devils that saw action found the back of the net.

ASU Invite Game #2
The Sun Devils scored five goals in the first quarter and shut out the Sagehens of Pomona-Pitzer in the frame to put the game away earlier as Arizona State rolled to a 15-3 victory in the second game of the ASU Invitational.
Alicia Brightwell scored five goals and the Sun Devils forced 18 steals while holding Pomona to just three goals in the contest - the lowest total of any Sun Devil opponent this season.
ASU shut out the Sagehens in the second half as Ianetta Hutchinson pitched a shutout in her half in the goal, stopping nine shots. E.B. Keeve had six saves in the first half for ASU.
Brightwell continued to show why she is among the most prolific scorers in the country, scoring three or more goals for the seventh consecutive game and has four or more goals in four of those.
Shannon Haas scored three goals to bring her two-game total to eight goals as well after a dominating five-goal effort against Colorado State in the opener.
Anna Kertes and Liz Kreek each scored two goals while Daisy Carter, Katie Sverchek and Amanda Young all found the back of the net as well.
