CORVALLIS, Ore. - The 20th-ranked Arizona State University baseball team lost its first Pac-12 road game, 5-0, to No. 3 Oregon State on Friday night at Goss Stadium in Corvallis, Ore.

Starting right-hander Trevor Williams (3-2) struck out six in five innings, but took his second loss of the season after allowing four runs, including three earned, on seven hits. Williams' six strikeouts in five innings were his third most this season and are tied for the second most in a conference game in his career.

The Beavers (20-1, 4-0) notched one run in each of the first three innings to take a 3-0 lead, and added one in both the fifth and sixth frames to stretch their lead to five.

Shortstop Drew Stankiewicz led off the game with a single up the middle to record the Sun Devils' (12-6-1, 1-3) only hit of the night.

ASU stranded five Beavers on base, including four in scoring position, and right-handed relievers Darin Gillies and Billy Young each threw a perfect seventh and eighth inning, respectively.

OSU starting left-hander Matt Boyd (5-0) gave up just one hit and struck out 11 in a complete game shutout to earn his fifth win of the season.
