UPDATED SUN DEVIL STATISTICS (21-12)

LAS VEGAS - Despite a career-high-tying 22 points from Jordan Bachynski and 21 points from Jahii Carson, the Sun Devil men's basketball team was unable to continue its run in the Pac-12 Tournament, falling to No. 21 UCLA, 80-75, in the quarterfinal round.

Jonathan Gilling added 17 points for the Sun Devils (21-12), who pushed the conference's top seed to the limit as they led UCLA (24-8) by as many as 15 points.

Larry Drew II, who led the Bruins with 20 points, connected on a 3-pointer with 4:58 remaining to give UCLA its first lead of the second half, 67-66.

Carson hit a jumper on the opposite end, starting a back-and-forth closing sequence that featured two ties and seven lead changes.

Neither team led by more than three points until Travis Wear's jumper gave UCLA a 78-75 advantage with 12 seconds left.

Gilling was unable to hit the equalizer on ASU's ensuing possession and the Sun Devils were not able to get a second look as UCLA's Jordan Adams grabbed the defensive rebound and was immediately fouled by Carson with fewer than two seconds remaining.

Carson tied James Harden's Sun Devil freshmen record with his 16th 20-point game of the year.
