QUOTING COACH SENDEK
"We got crushed inside. Obviously we gave up 50 points in the paint in a variety of ways...low post, transition, offensive rebounds, cutters off of back screens to name a few of the ways they tallied 50 points in the paint. Certainly the rebounding was very problematic for us. We really got destroyed on the back boards. And we got beat in 50-50 balls. So despite doing a number of good things on offense, it was negated by those kinds of things on defense. Bottom line is we gave up too many points in the paint AND rebounding was a big part of it."
ON CUTTING THE LEAD DOWN IN FINAL TWO MINUTES
"Jahii was sensational. Jon Gilling made a number of big threes for us. Guys fought back hard and had a chance to win at the end. But again, offensive rebound, putback, and one was the final dagger.
ON CARRICK'S FOUL TROUBLE
"Well, we're a lot better when he's on the court and tonight we had to play through big stretches of time without him. He picked up his third foul in the first half and Jahii got in some foul trouble as well. So both of those guys spend some extra time on the bench tonight as a result.
QUOTING JAHII
"I was just trying to take what the defense was giving me. They were looking for Jon because he was catching on fire the bigs were getting boards and they were trying to finish. So I just saw the opportunity for me to shoot open jump shots. They were backing up because they were mostly afraid of my drive, but I've been working on my jump shot, so I just decided to start to take more jump shots and attack the defense to get fouls because I knew we were in the bonus. It's definitely disappointing but we didn't play we;; on the defensive end. Of course we can score baskets on the other end, but if you can't stop the other team the scoring it doesn't do any good."
