POSTGAME NOTES FROM ASU WIN OVER UCLA: Jordan Bachynski Notches Career Highs

REBOUNDING AND DEFENSE NOTES
ASU outrebounded UCLA 53-33 on the day, and the +20 margin is the biggest rebounding margin in a conference game for ASU under Coach Sendek (115 Pac-10/12 games). UCLA, the Pac-12 leader in field goal percentage at 47.7 percent coming in to the game, shot a season-low 34.7 percent.

CAREER NUMBERS FOR JORDAN
Junior center Jordan Bachynski posted career highs in points (22), rebounds (15) and field goals made (10) and attempted (12) vs. UCLA Saturday and added six blocks. It marked the second 20-point game of his career (also had 20 at Stanford on Feb. 2, 2012). He did all that in 30 minutes. It marked the fifth career double-double for Jordan and the fourth this year. His 86 blocks in now sixth on the Pac-12 single-season blocks list.

Carrick Felix (B.S., Communications 2012) is averaging 15.9 points and 8.6 rebounds in past 17 games and has scored in double digits 18 out of 20 games on the year..10 20-point games in career and five this year (24 vs. Arkansas, 23 vs. UCLA, 21 vs. Sacramento St. and vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff and 20 vs. Colorado)...after not having a double-double in the first 65 career games he posted them in back-to-back games with 11 points and 11 boards vs. Hartford (Dec. 5) and 21 points/12 boards vs. Sacramento St. (Dec. 1) and now has seven in past 14 games including the 23 points and 11 boards vs. UCLA.

GILLING AND ABLE
Sophomore Jonathan Gillinghas 146 rebounds (7.3 per game) after posting 54 all of last season. He has made 21 three-pointers in the past nine games. He had had 18 points at Texas Tech on Dec. 22 and 14 at Oregon State on Jan. 10 and vs. Coppin State on Dec. 29. He also has three double-doubles on the year with 13/11 vs. USC on Jan. 24, 12/10 against Colorado on Jan. 6 and 13/15 vs. Florida A&M on Nov. 18. His eight assists vs. UCLA is a season-high, as he now has 60 assists on the season. His 12 rebounds vs. UCLA is his best in a league game, and he also had 11 vs. USC on Jan. 24.

--ASU has outshot the opponent in nine of the past 10 games. ASU is 101-22 (.821) under Coach Sendek when it outshoots the opponent.

--After starting the year 7-of-34 (.206) from the three-point stripe in first six games Evan Gordon has made 32-of-81 (.395) in past 13.

GREAT WEEKEND
ASU now has two home Pac-12 "sweeps" as it swept Utah and Colorado on Jan. 2-6 and now swept the Los Angeles schools for the first time since the 2009-10 season. Coach Sendek now has nine home sweeps in his seven seasons as Sun Devil head coach.
