San Diego Intercollegiate First-Round Results
The Sun Devil men's golf team fought off an injury, an illness and then darkness to finish its first day at the San Diego Intercollegiate on Monday.
Freshman Mathias Schjoelberg posted a 2-over-74 and was tied for 17th after the first round but had to withdraw due to back problems in the second round. Classmate Austin Quick tied for 29th after the first round with a 3-over-75 despite battling the flu. Jin Song (tied for 56h) shot a 6-over-78, David Lowe had a 9-over-81 and Spencer Fletcher had a 10-over-82.
ASU shot a 20-over-308 in the first round. Play for the second round was suspended due to darkness and will be completed Tuesday starting at 8:30 a.m. PT. The final round will begin with a shotgun start (same pairings as day one) immediately after.
