Sun Devil freshman Jon Rahm Rodriguez is at it again. Just a few weeks after shooting a 10-under 206 (77-64-65) in the Pac-12 Preview, the freshman fired a 7-under 65 in the second round of the Bill Cullum Invitational on Monday. Play was suspended during the second round due to darkness, but Rahm Rodriguez is the leader at 7-under 137 as the teams will finish the second round and then tee off in the third and final round following. ASU is third at even 576 (294-282), as freshman Max Rottluff is tied for eighth at 1-under 143 (72-71). Freshman Alberto Sanchez is tied for 19th at 2-over 146 (76-70), sophomore Mathias Schjoelberg is tied for 41st at 8-over 150 (74-76) while Chris Russo shot an 89-85.

Rahm Rodriguez is looking to become the first Sun Devil to win an outright title since Jesper Kennegard won the 2010 Southern Highland Intercollegiate and the first Sun Devil freshman to win an event since Jesper Kennegard won the 2008 Hawaii Intercollegiate. Spencer Fletcher tied for medalist honors as did the Sun Devils in the Bill Cullum Invitational last year. Rahm Rodriguez now has 52 birdies in just 14 rounds on the year.
