TULSA, Okla. - The Arizona State women's golf team leads the field of the Dale McNamara Invitational after 36 holes, Monday, at Golf Club Oklahoma in Broken Arrow, Okla. The Sun Devils shot a two-round team total of 4-under 572 (280-292) in back-to-back shotgun style rounds. ASU is the only team under par through two rounds of play and four shots ahead of second-place Florida.
Juniors Daniela Ordonez and Laura Blanco lead the Sun Devils individually in a tie for fourth after two rounds. Blanco and Ordonez, both natives of Bogota, Colombia, shot two-round totals of 2-under 142.
In the first round of competition, sophomore Noemi Jimenez shot a career-low round of 5-under 67. Jimenez, who carded six birdies in the first round, is currently tied for 12th place with a total of 1-over 145 (67-78). Junior Justine Lee, a 2012 Honorable Mention All-American, shot a two-round total of 2-over 146 (72-74) to tie for 15th. The Sun Devils currently have four golfers sitting in the top-15 in the tournament.
The final round of the Dale McNamara Invitational, hosted by the University of Tulsa, concludes tomorrow at the par-72, 6,282-yard Golf Club Arizona. The tournament is named for the long-time Tulsa and Hall of Fame golf coach Dale McNamara, the mother of Arizona State head coach Melissa Luellen.
