Bach Named Pac-12 Softball Pitcher of the Week

April 9, 2012

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Hillary Bach of the Arizona State softball team was named the Pac-12 Softball Pitcher of the Week, for the week of April 2-8, as released by conference officials on Monday morning.

This is Bach’s third Pitcher of the Week award and the program’s 67th.

Bach's 101st career game of record (Friday against No. 12 UCLA) ended with a final score of 9-1 in five full innings, marking the second time in ASU history the Sun Devils have mercy ruled the Bruins (the first on Thursday via Escobedo’s win).

The right-hander threw 65 pitches on the night, including two strikeouts and no walks. Bach is now 16-0 on the year (82-19 career), posts a team-best 1.14 ERA with eight shutouts in 92.0 innings of work. She ranks second all-time at ASU in wins with 82 and has not lost a game since May 9, 2010 (26-straight victories). Through April 1, she was 14th in the nation in ERA and 23rd in wins.

Bach helped the Sun Devils sweep UCLA for only the second time in school history, for a series that dates back to 1980 (the lone other sweep was in 2010).
