TULSA, Okla.--Senior Giulia Molinaro has set the tone for the women's golf season from the get-go, taking individual medalist honors at the 2011 Dale McNamara Invitational, hosted by the University of Tulsa.

Molinaro played inspired golf over the three-day event, shooting back-to-back rounds in the 60s for the first two days. The senior finished the tournament with a score of 6-under 210 (67-69-74) to earn her second career tournament victory. Last season, Molinaro won the Paradise Desert Classic in Hawai'i.

As a team, the Sun Devils just could not shake the Oklahoma State Cowgirls, who mounted an outstanding third-round effort for the come from behind victory. On the back of OSU's Jayde Panos, who shot a 64, the Cowgirls shot 13-under in the final round to take the team championship.

ASU finished five strokes back from Oklahoma State, earning the second-place finish with a three-day total of 9-over 873 (280-292-301) at the par-72, 6,626-yard Patriot Golf Club.

The Dale McNamara invitational is named on behalf of Arizona State head coach Melissa Luellen's mother, an instrumental pioneer in the advancement of collegiate women's golf and the long-time coach of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
