TEMPE- The Arizona State men's golf team is tied for fourth place with a 5-over par 355 after the first round of the Western Intercollegiate in Pasatiempo, Calif. Senior Jesper Kennegard paced the team with a 4-under par 66 and is tied for third.

Seniors Scott Pinckney and Oscar Zetterwall and junior Philip Francis are knotted at 22nd with a 2-over par 72. Senior James Byrne is tied for 37th at 3-over par and senior Thomas Buran is tied for 70th with an 8-over par 78.

UCLA is atop the leaderboard with a 3-under par 347, followed by San Diego State and California at 4-over par 354.

Second round play is scheduled to resume at 8 a.m. April 17 after inclement weather postponed the completion of the round. The third round is slated to start at 10 a.m., weather permitting.
