WAIKOLOA, Hawaii- The Arizona State men's golf team tied for seventh place in the Amer Ari Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawaii after shooting a 1-over par 289 in the third and final round. The Sun Devils finished tied with TCU and sit two stokes behind sixth-place Texas Tech at 14-under par 850 (279-282-289).

Seniors Jesper Kennegard (67-71-68) and Scott Pinckney (70-68-68) tied for sixth place among all competitors at 10-under par 206. Pinckney, playing as an individual, and Kennegard each shot a team-low 4-under par 68.

Senior Oscar Zetterwall shot a 2-over par 74 and finished tied for 28th at 3-under par 213 (71-68-74). Junior Philip Francis also recorded a 2-over par 74 and ended the event tied for 41st at an even par 216 (69-73-74), followed by senior Thomas Buran, who tied for 65th after shooting a 1-over par 73 and is at 3-over par 219 (72-74-73). Senior James Byrne carded an 8-over par 80 and tied for 86th with an 8-over par 224 (74-70-80).

Oklahoma State won by six strokes with a 34-under par 830 (278-273-279), followed by Texas at 29-under par 835 (282-278-275). UCLA took third with a 28-under par 836 (285-273-278), followed by Georgia Tech at 20-under par 844 (278-282-284) and USC in fifth at 19-under par 845 (271-292-282).

The Sun Devils next tournament is the Battle at the Beach in Newport, Calif., Feb. 13 through Feb. 15.
