NEW ORLEANS, La.—The Arizona State women’s golf team slipped into eighth place after the second round of
the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Championship in New Orleans, La. The Sun Devils shot an 11-over 299 on
Tuesday, for a two-day total of 16-over 592 (293-299).
Junior Giulia Molinaro continues to lead ASU, shooting an even-par 144 (71-73) after the conclusion of the second round to tie for 10th. Junior Carlota Ciganda and freshman Daniela Ordonez are tied for 33rd at 5-over 149, with Ciganda and Ordonez shooting a 74 and 76 on Tuesday, respectively. Freshman Laura Blanco is tied for 47th, shooting a two-day total of 7-over 151. Freshman Justine Lee rounds out the Sun Devil line-up shooting an 8-over 152 to tie for 52nd.
The talent-laden field for the tournament contains nine of the last 12 national champions includes four of the top-five ranked teams.
With 10 strokes separating Arizona State from the first place in the tournament, currently occupied by Alabama, the Sun Devils are well in range of a top finish. The final round of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate concludes tomorrow at the English Turn Golf & Country Club.
