ASU POSTGAME NOTES FOLLOWING 78-72 WIN OVER MONTANA STATE
--Sophomore Keala King had his best game, as he had career-highs in points (15) and minutes (29). King was 3-of-4 from three-point range, in his freshman season last year he was 1-of-18 on the year. He was also matched his career-high with eight rebounds.
--Junior Carrick Felix had a career-high three steals.
--Sophomore Kyle Cain, who was 11-of-25 (.440) from the free throw line last year, made 5-of-6 (.833) from the charity stripe.
--Junior Trent Lockett had his second career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. He also added a career-high four steals and notched his 31st double-figure scoring game. It marked the 14th time he has led the team in scoring in his career and 17th time he has led ASU in rebounding.
--Junior center Ruslan Pateev, who entered the game 23-of-42 (.548) from the free throw line in his career, made all six of his free throw attempts.
--ASU is now 23-15 (.605) in games decided by six points or less/OT games in the past five seasons.
--The Nov. 11 start date was the second-earliest season opener in Sun Devil history, topped only by the Nov. 10, 2000, loss to Tulsa (69-67) in Raleigh. It was the earliest start date in Coach Sendek's 19 seasons.
--Coach Sendek is now 16-3 (.842) in season openers and 3-3 (.500) at Arizona State.
--ASU is now 5-0 vs. Montana State in its history.
--The 22 turnovers was the most in the Herb Sendek era at ASU and just the sixth time his Sun Devil team had 20 turnovers. ASU had 20 against both Texas State (Nov. 16, 2009) and vs. Charlotte (Nov. 27, 2008 in Anaheim) and also three times in his first season (2006-07). It was the most turnovers since ASU had 26 at Arizona on Feb. 25, 2006.
--ASU's .628 free throw percentage last season was the lowest in Herb Sendek's 18 seasons as a head coach. It shot 28-of-35 (.800) vs. Montana State, including 20-fo-24 (.833) in the second half.
