COLLEGE STATION, Texas—The 10th-ranked Arizona State women’s golf team sits in 17th place headed into the final round of the 2011 NCAA women’s golf Championship in College Station, Texas. The Sun Devils have shot a three-round total of 43-over 907.
Weather took a toll on the competitors as lightening delayed play for over an hour. Of the 25 teams in the field, all shot over par with 17 teams shooting scores in the double digits.
On the day, freshman Daniela Ordonez led the Sun Devils shooting a 3-over 75 in the third round. Ordonez had also paced ASU at the NCAA East Regional, finishing in a career-best tie for third and helping Arizona State qualify for it’s 20th-straight NCAA Championship appearance.
Junior Carlota Ciganda continues to lead the Sun Devils for the tournament with a three-round total of 7-over 223 to tie for 31st.
The final round of the 2011 NCAA women’s golf Championships concludes tomorrow at the par-72, 6,260-yard Texas A&M Traditions Course.
