MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.—With all three divers making the men’s 1-meter springboard finals, Arizona State opened the first day of the 2011 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships with a strong performance.
The Sun Devils were led by two-time Pac-10 men’s 3-meter springboard champion Constantin Blaha, as he finished in sixth place in the men’s 1-meter with a score of 387.45. Teammate and two-time Pac-10 Platform Champion Riley McCormick finished close behind with a score of 376.95 to place eighth. Junior Cameron Bradshaw, in his first NCAA Championship appearance, finished 14th overall with a finals score of 355.95.
Arizona State was the only school with three divers to qualify for the event finals. The second day of the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships continues tomorrow from Minneapolis, Minn., with the men’s 3-meter springboard.
